Peugeot Chatel Wild Cherry Salt Mill

Chatel mills are available as either pepper or salt mills in a contemporary, clean design that fits with any decor. The high quality Cherry wood used in Chatel mills is grown, harvested, dried, shaped and finished in France. For Peugeot Classic mills, the grind is adjusted by turning the top nut: turn it clockwise (tighten) for a finer grind; counter-clockwise (loosen) for a coarser grind. The salt mechanism is designed to crush dry sea salt. It is made of specifically treated stainless steel to help resist salt corrosion. Fully adjustable, the salt mill can produce grinds from powdery fine to very coarse.

Peugeot have been making pepper and salt mills for longer than they have been making cars, since the Peugeot brothers converted the family mill to produce steel in 1810. The Peugeot steel mechanism is the key component of the mill. It has been constantly improved and is still the most reliable mechanism on the market. The pepper mechanism was specifically designed to mill peppercorns and is not suitable for milling other spices. Lifetime warranty on grinding mechanism. Made in France. Measures 20cm/8".
